PTFE heat shrink tubing (also known as Teflon heat shrink tubing) is a high-performance heat shrinkable sleeve made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material. It possesses excellent characteristics such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high insulation, and low friction coefficient, and is widely used in high-end fields such as electronics and electrical appliances, aerospace, chemical industry, and medical care.



1. Core performance characteristics


Broad temperature adaptation range



The long-term operating temperature range can reach from -55℃ to 260℃, and some products can withstand higher temperatures in the short term, making them suitable for protection needs in extreme environments.


The shrinkage temperature is typically between 300℃ and 340℃, and shrinkage is achieved through heating with a heat gun or oven.


Excellent chemical stability



PTFE material rarely reacts with any strong acids, strong alkalis, or organic solvents, and remains stable even in strong corrosive media such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid, making it particularly suitable for the protection of chemical pipelines and reaction equipment.


Excellent electrical insulation performance



With a volume resistance greater than 10¹⁸ Ω·m and a dielectric strength of ≥45 kV/mm, it can effectively prevent leakage and short circuits, and exhibits stability in high-frequency and high-voltage electrical systems.


Low thermal conductivity, good thermal insulation effect



With a thermal conductivity of approximately 0.22 W/(m·K) at room temperature, it serves as an excellent thermal insulation material, reducing the impact of heat on internal circuitry and protecting sensitive components from overheating damage.


High shrinkage ratio, strong sealing performance



Common shrinkage ratios are 1.7:1 and 4:1, and some medical-grade zebra tubes can achieve a ratio of 6:1. After heating, they can closely adhere to the protected object, forming a seamless sealing layer, significantly reducing the leakage risk to below 0.01%.


Excellent physical and mechanical properties



It possesses excellent flexibility and compressive strength, capable of withstanding a certain degree of compression and bending. Additionally, its smooth surface and good non-stick property make it ideal for protecting moving parts, such as cylinder covers.

Color: Primarily transparent, facilitating observation of internal structures; customizable in black, white, blue, red, and other colors. For medical use, colored stripes (such as zebra stripes) are often employed to enhance visibility.


Size: The inner diameter ranges from 1.6mm to 200mm, and the length is mostly available in rolls of 50m, 100m, and 200m. Non-standard customization is supported.


Wall thickness: Ultra-thin models can be as low as 0.08mm, suitable for spaces with limited constraints.


Certification standards: Some products have passed environmental and safety certifications such as SGS and RoHS, making them suitable for export equipment.
